Teaching Schedule, Trimester 1:
Pd. 1 - AP U.S. Government & Politics . . . That's it . . . I'm semi-retired!

About me: This is my 15th year in the Social Studies department at SEHS. My career began with a year of teaching English in South Korea in the mid-90s. Upon my return to Eugene, I taught part-time in the English as a Second Language department at LCC. After pursuing a Master's Degree in Education at the U of O, I subbed for 3 years in the area, then landed at SEHS, a great place to teach! The students here are the best!

One of my favorite student activities at South is the SEHS Mock Trial Club. I'm the advisor, and the club has 2 fantastic lawyer/coaches, Dennis Gerl & Robert Emond, who have been with us for a number of years. Club members prepare to role-play cases in a competitive fashion in real courtrooms. Students who want to learn about the law and gain an authentic experience in being a lawyer or witness in court are welcome to join. It's an opportunity to develop public speaking skills, to pad the college resume, and to have fun with new friends. The competitive season runs from the Winter Break to the 1st of March on Tuesdays and Thursdays. All are welcome - no experience necessary.
